5 Content Mistakes on Digital Signage — and How to Do Better
The most expensive hardware is useless if the content is wrong. We show the most common mistakes companies make with digital signage content — and how to do it right.

Hardware Is Only Half the Battle
A common pattern: a company invests in high-quality displays, mounts them professionally — and then nothing happens. The screen shows a static PowerPoint slide from last year's Christmas party. Or worse: it is turned off.
The truth is: content determines the success or failure of your digital signage system.
Mistake 1: Too Much Text at Once
The temptation is great: you have a screen and want to fit as much information as possible. The result? A wall of text that nobody reads. Rule of thumb: if a viewer cannot grasp the message in 3 seconds, it is too much text.
Mistake 2: Outdated Content
Nothing looks more unprofessional than a display still showing the Christmas offer in March.
Mistake 3: Poor Image Quality
A blurry, pixelated image on a 55-inch display is a nightmare. Always create images in the native display resolution.
Mistake 4: No Branding
The display shows nice content, but you cannot tell who it is from. Create unified templates with logo, colors, and fonts.
Mistake 5: No Strategy
Content is created by feeling, without a clear goal. Define your goal, know your audience, create a content plan, and measure what works.
The Golden Rule
Ask yourself with every piece of content: "Would I stop and look?" If the answer is no, rework the content.
