What is a kiosk stele?
A kiosk stele is a freestanding portrait display for interior spaces that expects input from the visitor. Technically it is the same form factor as an advertising totem or an info totem — the name only describes the job. One device covers all three roles, controlled by the playlist in the CMS. The SMARTENIC Tower Indoor offers 55 inches, 4K UHD and Android for this.
How is a stele different from a display on the wall?
The stele stands on the floor and carries itself. A wall model needs a load-bearing wall, a drilled mount and a socket at mounting height, but costs less and takes no floor space. In leased premises, listed buildings and at trade shows the decision usually goes to the stele, because it needs no intervention in the building fabric and can be moved at any time.
Can an indoor stele be operated by touch?
Yes. Touch is available on the SMARTENIC Tower Indoor. That enables indoor wayfinding, product lookup in the aisle, self check-in at reception and feedback prompts in the waiting area. Without touch the stele stays a playback-only advertising screen, which is often enough for offers, menus and opening hours.
Can an indoor stele be placed outdoors?
No. Indoor steles have no weatherproof enclosure, no heater and not the brightness for direct sunlight. Moisture and frost cause failures. A covered but open-sided area already counts as outdoors. For those locations there is the SMARTENIC Tower Outdoor range with a weatherproof enclosure and far higher brightness.
How do I manage the content on a digital stele?
Through SMARTENIC Control in the browser. You upload images, videos or web content, build a playlist and set when each item plays. Several steles can be grouped, for example by branch or by floor. Connectivity runs over Wi-Fi or mobile network. The platform is hosted in the EU and GDPR compliant.
How much does a kiosk stele cost?
Price on request. Four things drive the price: screen size, touch versus display only, quantity, and whether delivery, placement, training and the CMS licence are part of the quote. A single stele for one reception desk is costed differently from ten steles for a retail chain with central content management. We give you the price for your configuration on request.
